Costa Rica
2 months agoAugust-September 2007, me and my girlfriend Nanine travelled to Costa Rica. It was my first surfing trip after 3 months of physiotherapy, because of my knee operations. I had been looking forward to this moment for months, finally I recovered, and got into shape again.
I was not sure taking a long board with me, but I’m glad I did.
I Surfed half of the trip on a short board (6’7 , I’m not an expert), and the rest on a long board. Spots like Hermosa, Playa Grande, Playa Negra, Little Hawaii (Avelanes) were only possible with a short board. I surfed perfectly with a long board @ places like Witch Rock, Ollies point, Pan dolces (crazy memories!), Boca Barranca (Hell Yeh!!, Boca Barranca!!) and even Pavones. Although I have to admit, that it was not a big swell on these days.

South Africa 2008

After a long period of a terrible injury, 2 knee operations, and lots of therapy, luckely surfing again. I really thought that surfing was over and out, but managed to get myself back on the water. In January 2008 I’ve been to South Africa again. Together with, Daan, Oscar, Wilco, Maurice and Kevin we stayed in a nice vila at sunset beach. Here are the best pictures of this great surftrip
